Your first profit snapshot, before you enter a single cost
Most profit tools make you finish a data-entry project before they show you anything. CostPilot Pro reverses the order.
- Install and authorize. You approve read-only access through Shopify's standard authorization flow.
- Get your first snapshot. CostPilot Pro builds a first profit view from what your store already reports — your revenue, Shopify's own fees, and the cost sources it can already reach. What is pulled automatically depends on your store's setup and what the app supports.
- Add cost details later. Enter COGS, shipping, and ad spend when it suits you. Each item you add makes the per-order number closer to reality.
The snapshot arrives on day one. The accuracy is yours to build, on your schedule.
The costs CostPilot Pro puts on every order
- Cost of goods sold (COGS) — what you pay your supplier per unit.
- Shipping — what the carrier charges you, net of any shipping the customer pays.
- Platform and payment fees — Shopify subscription and payment processing charges.
- Advertising — ad spend allocated across the orders in the same period.
- Refunds — money returned, plus the cost of goods that don't come back sellable.

How CostPilot Pro calculates profit
No black box. The formula is public:
Every input is visible in the app, and every number traces back to a source: your store's order data, a connected cost source, or a figure you entered. If a cost is missing, the app shows the gap instead of guessing at it — so you know exactly how complete your picture is.
Exact handling of edge cases — partial refunds, gift cards, exchanges — follows the app's current implementation; the changelog records changes to calculation behavior as they ship.
Your store's data, and your trust
Read-only access
CostPilot Pro requests read-only access to order and payout data through the Shopify Admin API. It cannot edit orders, change products, or touch your store's settings. You approve the scope during Shopify's standard authorization, and you can revoke it at any time.
Data minimization
The app works with the data it needs to calculate profit — order values, fees, and the costs you add — and nothing more. It doesn't sell or share your store data, and there is no checkout on this site: we never see or store card numbers. The full details are in our privacy policy.

Pricing: free plan first
Free plan, for as long as you need it. The first snapshot and ongoing profit tracking are available on a plan with an order limit. The current limit is listed on the App Store page.
Paid plans, billed through Shopify. If you upgrade, billing happens inside your Shopify account — the charge appears on your Shopify invoice. This site has no checkout and never handles your card details. Which plan fits depends on your order volume; the limit and plan details are on the App Store listing. Current plan prices are shown there too, where Shopify keeps them up to date.
FAQ
Which Shopify fees does CostPilot Pro count?
The app counts the fees Shopify reports against your orders — payment processing charges and the platform subscription — and subtracts them from revenue in the per-order view. What each line item on your Shopify bill actually means is covered in What each Shopify fee means, on Seller Tales.
Is my store's data safe?
Access is read-only and granted through Shopify's standard authorization. CostPilot Pro reads the order and payout data it needs to calculate profit, and nothing more. You can revoke access at any time in your Shopify admin. Details: privacy policy.
What does the free plan include?
Profit snapshots and tracking up to a monthly order limit. The exact limit and plan details are listed on the App Store page. The free plan doesn't expire.
What happens if I uninstall?
Uninstall through your Shopify admin at any time. Read-only access ends immediately when you do. If you want your data before uninstalling, contact us and we'll help with an export.
